Virtru Chrome Extension will be rolled out December 15

The State of Utah uses Virtru to encrypt emails. Encryption of email messages protects the content from being read by entities other than the intended recipients. DTS is rolling out the Virtru Chrome extension statewide on December 15 to make using email encryption easier.

The Virtru extension is only used in Chrome.

For Windows Computers:

DTS will be auto installing the Virtru extension to your computer on December 15. You will see a window pop up asking you to ‘Enable Extension’. IMPORTANT: PLEASE CLICK THE BLUE “ENABLE EXTENSION” BUTTON!! View further instructions here.

For Mac Computers:
The extension will not automatically install. You will need to install it on December 15. View installation instructions here.

If you do not currently need to send encrypted email, please install the extension. After it is installed, you can simply keep the toggle in the off position.

For any questions or issues regarding installation and activation, please contact the DTS Help Desk at and click on ‘Get Help’.

New Contracts Module in ServiceNow

DTS has launched the contract module in ServiceNow. There will be new approval notifications sent out to DTS managers along with notifications being sent to agency contacts and watchers as things are being processed. Only new items being processed will be added into the module at this time so contracts will not show up unless we are processing an amendment on it.

You can view the training document here, along with a document that identifies the process and corresponding contract module status. These documents help answer most questions about how to find all the information in the system that is needed. If there are any questions on the module please reach out to Laura Larsen.

Fuel Tank Replacement at the Salt Lake Data Center

DFCM recently teamed up with DTS to replace the fuel tank located at the Capitol Complex. The tank provides the fuel for the backup generators for the data center in the event of a power outage. The new tank is smaller than the old tank, but it will still provide enough fuel to maintain operations in the event of an emergency. It was a very big job to replace the tank. Watch the timelapse videos below.
