We are committed to continuing to provide innovative solutions and exceptional services to the residents of Utah. Through our current IT initiatives, we will keep Utah in the forefront of the field of technology by utilizing IT tools to better serve business customers and the residents of the state.

Citizen Portal

The Utah Citizen Portal envisions a one-stop, customer centric experience for residents and visitors to interact with government services. Utah Code §63A-16-803, Single sign-on citizen portal, requires the portal be operational by January 1, 2025. The portal is a collaborative effort among all state agencies.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly evolving technology that has the potential to transform various aspects of our society, economy, and environment. AI can enhance productivity, innovation, and quality of life, but it also poses challenges and risks that need to be addressed responsibly and ethically.

We are undertaking a business transformation of the state’s payroll and HR systems that will span the next couple of years and result in the replacement of the current payroll, HR, and other supporting systems.

Security and Access Management

With the growing number of cyber threats, it is imperative that DTS continue to ensure that state employees and contractors accessing over 1,600 state applications have a safe and secure way of accessing applications with sensitive employee and citizen data. Our goal is to implement best practices for identity and access management, minimize security and operational risk, and be able to quickly and effectively adapt to changing regulatory, legislative, and customer requirements.

Customer Experience

As state government employees, we want to provide a first class customer experience for those we serve. To do this, we are working to create a “no wrong door” infrastructure so that customers can easily provide feedback. Verifiable Digital Credentials
