Log in to GlobalProtect
If you don’t see the GlobalProtect app, contact the DTS Help Desk at dts.utah.gov and select ‘Get Help’
- Click the GlobalProtect system tray icon
to launch the GlobalProtect app. The status panel opens.
- Enter remote.utah.gov for initial deployment
- Depending on the connection mode, click Connect to initiate the connection.
- When prompted, enter your Utah ID (name@utah.gov) and Password, and then click Sign In.

If RSA is required, you will be prompted for that code.
You will see this icon in your menu bar once connected.
Establish the GlobalProtect Connection
In most instances, the GlobalProtect app runs transparently in the background to protect you from network threats. If your setup requires you to enter your GlobalProtect credentials after you have logged in to your endpoint (single sign-on is disabled), use the following steps:
- Click the GlobalProtect system tray icon
to launch the GlobalProtect app. The status panel opens.
- If multiple portals are saved on your app, select a Portal from the drop-down. By default, the most recently connected portal is pre-selected from the Portal drop-down.
- Depending on the connection mode, click Connect to initiate the connection.
- If prompted, enter your User Name and Password, and then Sign In. As soon as the app connects successfully, the GlobalProtect icon changes to a globe with a shield
. When you hover over the icon, it displays the Connected status.
View GlobalProtect Settings
To view settings and network connection information for the GlobalProtect app, use the following steps:
- Click the GlobalProtect system tray icon
to launch the GlobalProtect app. The status panel opens.
- Click the settings icon
, and then select Settings.
- On the GlobalProtect Settings panel, select one of the following tabs to view the GlobalProtect settings and connection information:
- General—Displays the username and portal(s) associated with the GlobalProtect account. You can also add, delete, or modify portals from this tab.
- Connection—List the gateways configured for the GlobalProtect app and provides the following information about each gateway:
- Gateway name
- Tunnel status
- Authentication status
- Connection type
- Gateway IP address or FQDN (available only in external mode)
- Troubleshooting—Enables you to Collect Logs, set the Logging Level, and view information about the network configuration, route settings, active connections, and logs.
- Notification—Displays the list of notifications triggered on the GlobalProtect app. To view more details about a specific notification, double-click the notification.
- General—Displays the username and portal(s) associated with the GlobalProtect account. You can also add, delete, or modify portals from this tab.
Disconnect from GlobalProtect
- Launch the GlobalProtect app by clicking the GlobalProtect system tray icon and click on Disconnect.
