Utah ID: Resetting or Recovering Your Password

Do the following if you need to recover your Utah ID password:

Login with a Username or Email
1. Go to Id.Utah.Gov
2. Enter your Username or Email used when creating the account
3. Select "Sign-In" button and then "Forgot Password"
Can't Remember Your Username or Email?

If you can't remember the username or email that you used to create your original Utah ID, you will need to create a new Utah ID account. Create a new account now.
Retrieving Your Profile
1. Fill out the information requested
2. Enter your Utah ID username or email address
3. Enter your last name used when creating the account
4. Click Continue
More Than One Last Name

If you have more than one last name and you have trouble with resetting your password, please try putting a space between your last names or removing the space between. Some users may also use a hyphen in initial setup.
Receiving Your Security Code

Text or Email: If you selected an email address, the security code will be sent to the email address; if you selected a phone number, the security code will be sent to the phone number via text.

Once you receive the security code, type it in and click Continue. This will take you to the password reset screen.
Create a New Password
Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and must include at least one character from three of the four character sets:
1. Uppercase letters
2. Lowercase letters
3. Numbers and
4. Special Characters

Do the following if you know your current Utah ID password and you want to change it.

Login to UtahID
1. Go to Id.Utah.Gov
2. Enter your Username or Email used when creating the account
3. Select the "Sign-In" button
Can't Remember Your Username or Email?

If you can't remember the username or email that you used to create your original Utah ID, you will need to create a new Utah ID account. Create a new account now.
Select Security (it's on the left)
1. Security: Click on the Security link to the left.
2. Password: Click on the Password section.
3. Change your password: Click Change Your Password. The Change your password section will indicate when the password was last changed.
Change Your Password
1. Current Password: Enter your current password - Click Next
2. New Password: Enter your new password - Click Next

Your New Password is Now Active

You will receive a notification that the password has been changed. Your new password is now in effect.
