
We are excited to announce that Aaron Bentley is the new DTS Agency Services Deputy Director. Aaron Bentley has dedicated more than 24 years to advancing technology and public service for Salt Lake City. Throughout his career in the city’s Information Management Services department, he served in a variety of leadership roles, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and civic engagement. For the past seven years, Aaron served as Salt Lake City’s Chief Information Officer. In his role as CIO, Aaron led efforts to modernize government operations and leverage technology to make Salt Lake City more open and accessible. He is especially passionate about closing the digital divide and worked closely with the mayor’s office and city council to establish programs that expand digital access across the city.
Aaron studied at Brigham Young University and the Harvard Kennedy School, where he strengthened his expertise in public policy, leadership, and organizational transformation. Outside of his professional work, Aaron and his wife, Amy, are deeply committed to serving Utah’s refugee community. Together, they are the proud parents of nine children, five of whom are refugees from around the world—reflecting their shared dedication to service and global community.
