Virtru Secure Share is the approved standard for secure large file sharing via email

Earlier this year, the State of Utah discontinued the use of MOVEit for secure large file sharing via email. The Division of Technology Services approved the use of Virtru Secure Share, and it is now the official standard.

Virtru SecureShare provides features that are Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) approved. Virtru SecureShare allows the sharing of large files securely with anyone, even if they are not using Virtru. Files are protected using the Trusted Data Format, which encrypts data and lets you set permissions and options for  shared files. For example, it allows for expiration dates, watermarking, or authentication requirements to your files, even after they are shared or downloaded to another device.

To use VirtruSecure Share:

  • Go to https://secure.virtru.com/secure-share/outbound
  • Log in by clicking on ‘Sign in with Google’, and then enter your State of Utah email address, and continue following the prompts for login
  • You can then select ‘Send’ or ‘Request’ on the left side
  • Complete the appropriate fields
