New IT Director at DHHS

We are pleased to announce that Rachael Stewart is the new IT Director for the Department of Health and Human Services. Rachael has worked for the State of Utah for 23 years. She started as an Eligibility Specialist with DWS and went on to fill various positions including Program Specialist, Trainer, Business Analyst and Program Manager. She began working for DTS in 2016 as a Sr. Project Manager and has spent the last 4 and a half years at DHHS (formerly DHS) as an IT Manager. She feels fortunate to have worked with a wide variety of state and federal programs that support Utahns. The Salesforce event specifically designed for Utah is back this year! Snowforce is the premier networking and learning event for the Utah Salesforce community. There is something for everyone: an executive track, an architect track, a marketing cloud track, and a bunch of hands-on learning sessions. This event typically attracts over 500 attendees.

New Hosting Director

I am pleased to announce that Patrick Funk is the new Hosting Director for DTS. In this role Patrick will oversee the Hosting Operations organization at DTS. This organization reports to the COO, Dan Harmuth, and handles all enterprise hosting infrastructure tasks for DTS. In addition, DTS Hosting provides DevOps functions and enterprise database services.   Patrick has worked for the state for 18 years, most recently as the manager of the Core Cloud team, which manages the state’s hosting infrastructure operations. New Boards and Commissions System

  In December 2022, a new upgrade to the Boards and Commissions application was rolled out. This project was a successful partnership between DTS and the Governor’s Office, and followed an in-depth review of workflow processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement.    The analysis involved customer interviews with both internal staff, agency staff and the general public that resulted in a detailed statement of work that could be followed by the development team. The end result was a much more current looking website, with better usability and a self-service approach for the application process.

2023 Maps on the Hill is February 14

Utah’s Maps on the Hill exhibit will be held on February 14 in the Utah State Capitol Building Rotunda from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

Maps on the Hill, a free event, is a great way to learn how current mapping technology is being applied to important issues across a wide range of disciplines including economic development, natural resources, infrastructure management, public lands and environment issues, efficient services delivery, and more.  Maps on the Hill is expected to draw many map exhibits from all levels of government, private sector firms, and higher education.
