Data Center Exit Project – May Update

We are heading down the home stretch on the data center exit project. This is the top priority for DTS and we are making steady improvements every day, including some major accomplishments over the past few weeks.

Data Center Exit Project – April Update

We are continuing to move forward with the data center exit project. This is the top priority for DTS and we are making steady improvements every day, including some major accomplishments last week. 

We successfully migrated the network from Salt Lake to Taylorsville over the weekend. This was a big milestone in the Data Center Exit project. We migrated 23 network firewalls from the Salt Lake data center to the Taylorsville data center. Data Center Exit Project – March 2022

We are continuing to move forward with the data center exit project. This is the top priority for DTS and we are making steady improvements every day. 

The plan calls for moving development and test servers to the Taylorsville Data Center starting on Monday, March 14.  Then we plan to move production servers to Taylorsville Data Center starting on April 11. 

We have completed approximately 37% of the server and system migrations as part of the data center exit. Some accomplishments include:

Data Center Exit Project Update – February 2022

We are continuing to move forward with the data center exit project. This is the top priority for DTS and we are making steady improvements every day. 

Due to supply chain constraints, the project timeline has been impacted. The new target completion date is June 1, 2022. We will now be moving all the state servers and applications from February – May. Your IT Director will be coordinating with you on the updated schedule to identify when your specific agency applications, servers, and databases will be moved.

Data Center Exit Project

DTS is working on a Salt Lake Data Center Exit project. We need to move from the current location at the Capitol complex as the facility is slated to be demolished. The data center houses the servers that host state agency IT applications and systems.

DTS will work to migrate the systems and applications with minimal downtime for state agencies. We will be working with all teams to ensure a smooth transition to the cloud or other options.

DTS is now part of the Department of Government Operations

Effective July 1, 2021, the Division of Technology Services became part of the Department of Government Operations. This change is a result of the Utah Legislature passing S.B. 181. Alan Fuller is Director of the Division of Technology Services and Chief Information Officer. This change will not affect the way you work with the Division of Technology Services. Welcome to the New DTS Service Portal

The DTS website has had a makeover! In an effort to make it even easier for all state agencies and customers to get help, we’ve made a service portal.

You can now easily navigate to DTS products, and you can submit a new help ticket with just a few clicks. Simply log in to dts.utah.gov, select Online Form New Ticket, complete the three form fields, and click Submit. It’s that simple. You can also check the status of your request in real time in the My Tickets tab on the left-hand side of the homepage.
